This presentation discusses the benefits stemming from the application of Autonomic Management principles to Wireless Networks. Based on the policy-based management (PBM) paradigm and a hybrid management framework, technical policies guide the autonomic operation of wireless networks. The framework respects the autonomous nature of devices participating in a wireless network. A set of policy examples clarifies the policy hierarchy and the creation of closed control loops in three layers.
