2nd WG4 Meeting - Vienna : This presentation discusses the design and implementation of self-management capabilities in wireless ad hoc networks. Based on the policy-based management (PBM) paradigm, a novel management framework uses policies to guide the autonomic operation of participating nodes. The framework respects the autonomous nature of wireless ad hoc nodes, providing guidelines and assistance in their self-* decisions. Policies are used to achieve self-configuration, self-optimisation and self-protection in wireless ad hoc networks.
